The exterior of this cool cottage also paints a picture of textural beauty as white cedar is combined with a dash of raw exposed steel to shape a façade that would age beautifully as it wears on.
On the inside oak boards usher in warmth and elegance even as polished modern finishes in the kitchen and dining room paint a picture of refinement. A smart ventilation system and elegant décor complete a cottage that is both exquisite and exciting!
Exposed brick wall sections in various rooms also add to the appeal of an otherwise contemporary setting with the lower level containing the living area and the top floor housing the bedrooms along with the kitchen and dining space.
The new kitchen and dining room are housed in the contemporary two-level addition that flows into the garden. A glazed walkway and beautiful green spaces further enhance the striking indoor-outdoor interplay that is completely altered after the nifty makeover.
This was built by Aamodt / Plumb Architects in just a matter of 12 months from the initial idea being put in place and while that might not sound all that ‘fast’ it is remarkably quick for a home of its size.
In fact rigid walls are kept to an absolute minimum here giving the dwelling a relaxing vibe. With the interior and the garden and pool deck outside flowing into one another almost seamlessly the greenery outside becomes an integral part of the living area indoors.
Designed by Renato D’Ettorre Architects the open plan living area of the beach house is draped in white along with native hardwoods that give it warmth and usher in a dash of visual contrast.
