This meant that the upper floor was incorporated into the hillside and the gradient of the lot turned into an advantage by simply using a step-wise arrangement of various levels. Despite these restrictions a lovely roof deck incorporated within a flat planted roof allows the homeowners to take in the sights and sounds of the serene island!

But of W3 Architects found himself in this unique spot as he was asked to expand and revitalize a Santa Monica home from the 1950s that he first upgraded in 1989 himself.

It is the top level that holds the bedrooms the nursery and the guest room along with the bathrooms. Responding to the needs of the landscape in which it sits and showcasing eco-sensitive style this is a home that delights in more ways than one!
