Designed by Marina Vella Arquitectos sustainability and an ability to integrate with the natural backdrop were the key aspects that shaped Casa Chontay. A curved stone wall broken up by the presence of sleek tall windows greets you here even as the outdoor dining area and pergola leave a big impression.
The exterior of this cool cottage also paints a picture of textural beauty as white cedar is combined with a dash of raw exposed steel to shape a façade that would age beautifully as it wears on.
Nestled on a quiet little plot in the beautiful Argentine Patagonia brings together unabated views of the forest landscape that surrounds it and the Limay River that becomes a part of its lovely backyard!
This meant that the upper floor was incorporated into the hillside and the gradient of the lot turned into an advantage by simply using a step-wise arrangement of various levels. Despite these restrictions a lovely roof deck incorporated within a flat planted roof allows the homeowners to take in the sights and sounds of the serene island!
Split across two distinct wings the design of this prefab clearly demarcates the public areas from the private ones with the kitchen living area and dining space on one level and the bedrooms and home studio on the other. Designed by Renato D’Ettorre Architects the open plan living area of the beach house is draped in white along with native hardwoods that give it warmth and usher in a dash of visual contrast.
